Abstract
The method of coal flotation with the use of effective and low-toxic reagents based on technical mixtures of phenols, is characterized in that in order to reduce the toxicity of the reagent and increase its effectiveness, technical mixtures of phenols are hydrogenated to obtain a hydroxyl reagent, which is a mixture of alkyl cyclohexanols.

Dgm of flotation of coal and ores of non-ferrous metals, various reagents are used, including organic compounds in the structure of which hydroxypnas are contained, (alcohols, phenols, etc.). However, to some of these reagents, despite their effectiveness, interest has been lost, since some of them inevitably fell into the water of the beneficiation plants, causing subsequent difficulties in disposing of the effluent. Among such effective, yet toxic, reagents are compounds of a number of phenols (xylenols and other high-boiling phenols). Previously widely used as blowing agents, phenols are replaced by less toxic reagents, among which the main place belongs to alcohols.
The purpose of the invention is to reduce the toxicity of the reagent and increase its effectiveness.
To do this, the proposed method for flotation of coal and ores uses various isomers of alkympicyclohexanols obtained by hydrogenation of technical mixtures, phenols, in particular high boilers, which are not valuable in themselves, such as pheno-absorbant oils, containing mainly xylene-1 and other alkylphenols. The toxicity of the mixture of alkylcyclohexanolor is hundreds of times lower than the toxicity of phenols.
