Description
This invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to the continuous casting of steel.
В этих услови х процессы раскислени и дегазации не успевают пройти в струе и завершение их зависит от толщины сло стали, на который падает стру .Various methods of vacuumizing are widely used to improve the quality of the metal. It is known that in the process of vacuuming a metal stream system with a sufficient height of jet incidence, it accounts for up to 70-80% of the total degassing and deoxidation work. However, when the metal is evacuated to the UNRS and the vertical dimensions are limited, the metal in vacuum can only be drained by a short jet, no more than 1.5-2 mm. Under these conditions, the processes of deoxidation and degassing do not have time to pass in the jet, and their completion depends on the thickness of the steel layer on which the jet falls.
The aim of the invention is to increase the efficiency of vacuuming by determining the optimum thickness, in other words, of the melt layer being processed. This is achieved by the fact that the height of the metal layer in the vacuum chamber is changed according to the results of monitoring the amount of gases sucked from the chamber.
FIG. Figure 1 shows schematically an apparatus for carrying out the inventive method at the lower position of the tundish; in fig. 2 - the same, with the upper position of the tundish; in fig. 3 is the same as in FIG. 1, but changing the metal level in the tundish.
5.The molten metal from the casting ladle / enters the bottom adjacent to it, the vacuum chamber 2 and through the discharge nozzle 3 - into the intermediate ladle 4, the consumption of metal from which is regulated, for example, by the stopper 5.
The desired height / 11 of the metal layer in the vacuum chamber is established by adjusting the vertical position of the intermediate
3). При этом дл получени возможно тонкого сло металла в вакуумной камере барометрическое давление /IB поддерживают на уровне днища вакуумнойladle 4 or metal level in an intermediate ladle (see fig. 3). At the same time, to obtain a possibly thin layer of metal in the vacuum chamber, the barometric pressure / IB is maintained at the level of the bottom of the vacuum
камеры, а разливку производ т под действием напора, создаваемого столбом Д/г.chambers, and the casting is made under the action of the pressure created by the column D / g.
The level / 11 of the metal in the vacuum chamber is changed each time according to the results of the control of the gas evolution from the chamber. Such control can be carried out, for example, on the basis of the indicator method. An indication of the achievement of optimal degassing conditions is the maximum gas evolution shown by the monitoring device. After that, by small corrections of the level of the metal in the intermediate tank 4, this level of gassing is maintained in the continuation of the entire time of evacuation, equal to the casting time to the VLDC.
