Description
The described wire resistive resistor is intended for use in electrical circuits of devices, apparatuses and other devices operating in an atmosphere containing explosive substances (gas, dust), as well as in devices requiring increased reliability. It relates to a known type of wire variable resistors containing two kinematically connected cylinders, one of which is made of a dielectric, and the other is made of metal and high-resistance wire laid in grooves on the surface of cylinders located along a helical line. As the cylinders rotate, the wire rewinds from one part of the dielectric cylinder F3 to another. At the same time, part of the turns is located on a metal cylinder, which acts as a slider. The ends of the high-resistance wire are led out to current collectors located on the ends of the cylinder shaft from the dielectric. The resistance is incorporated into the circuit by means of brushes in contact with the current-receiving devices. However, the presence of current collectors and brushes in the resistor reduces its advantages, since sliding friction between these elements causes their wear and reduces the service life of the resistor, and, in conditions of strong vibration, sparks can occur between brushes and current collectors. In the known resistor, it takes a long time to change the resistance from the minimum to the maximum value, since for this it is necessary to rotate the cylinders by tens or hundreds of revolutions, which in some cases (for example, during manual adjustment) is a serious drawback. The purpose of the invention is to increase the durability, vibration resistance and speed of the wire variable resistor. The difference between a pre-folded resistor and the known resistor is that in it one cylinder is made of dielectric, and the second one of alternating metal and dielectric washers mounted on one shaft, forming grooves on the cylinder surface. In the grooves, high-resistance wires are placed in the form of loops wound zigzag-like on both cylinders so that said metal washers perform the role of a moving contact. FIG. 1 schematically shows the described resistor, side view; in fig. 2 is a section along the AL in FIG. one; pas figs. 3 given electrical resistor circuit.
Дл ограничени поворота цилиндров резистор снабжен стопорами (на чертеже не показаны).A nated cylinder that acts as a movable contact and consists of alternating washers 3 from a dielectric and washers 4 from a metal. The kinematic coupling between the cylinders is carried out by means of gear wheels 5 of the same diameter, mounted on shafts 6 w. 7, respectively, rotating in the bearings 8. The washers 4 are insulated from the shaft 7 by a sleeve 9 of a dielectric. The flexible conductors 10 and terminals 11 serve to connect a resistor to the circuit. The diameters of the cylinders of the resistor along the grooves are the same. The high resistance wire 2 is zigzagged on both cylinders and is located in their annular grooves. In order to avoid the exit of the wire loops 2 from the grooves of the cylinders, their full stroke should be slightly less than one revolution. To limit the rotation of the cylinders, the resistor is provided with stoppers (not shown in the drawing).
A handle or other device for rotation is fixed on one of the shafts (6 or 7); in addition, one of the shafts of the molset should be equipped with a friction device or locking device, creating a moment of resistance preventing the spontaneous rotation of the cylinders during vibration.
When the shafts rotate in the direction shown by arrows in the drawing, the wire is rewound from the cylinder / onto the combined cylinder and the ends of the zigzag loops are hooped by the metal washers.
4 (see Fig. 3); the resistance of the resistor decreases. During reverse rotation, the length of the non-shunted portions of the wire loops increases and the resistance of the resistor increases.
The diameter of the cylinders, their length, the number of wire loops and its cross section can vary widely, depending on the required resistance values and power.
The absence of crawls and any kind of sliding contacts eliminates the possibility of arcing and allows the use of the described resistor in an explosive environment.
