Abstract
Description
8402875-2 UI contact fingers, which are usually mounted on one conductor end. A contact device of this kind has a relatively large construction height. In order to be able to keep the diameter of the enclosing enclosure down, it has therefore been forced in plants with aluminum conductors to use contact plugs made of copper in the conductor joints which have been fixed to the aluminum conductor by resistance or friction welding. Such contact devices become relatively expensive. If you were to use aluminum contact plugs instead, you would need to use approximately three times as many contact fingers as for copper plugs for the same rated operating current, in order to be able to keep the power development per contact point at an acceptable level. This in turn means that the plug diameter and thus also the diameter of the enclosure must be increased, with large cost increases and other inconveniences as a result.
It is known that in conductor joints 1 SF6 switchgear as a contact element between the conductor ends a strip of silver-plated beryllium bronze with resilient contact lamellae punched from the surface of the strip, in principle made as shown in German Offenlegungsschrift 1 286 170. Such a contact device has a low construction height and provides many parallel contact points. It can therefore also be used with contact plugs made of aluminum. However, a disadvantage of this joint design is that it requires tight manufacturing tolerances, since the effective suspension travel of the contact strip is relatively small (only a few hundredths of a millimeter). The embodiment is therefore not suitable in joints where in addition to axial movement also some radial movement with angular deviation between the conductor parts must be tolerated. The object of the present invention is to provide a relatively simple and inexpensive contact joint between two preferably concentric conductors, which can be axially movable relative to each other. . The joint must have a low construction height and be elastic so that some radial movement with angular deviation between the conductor parts can be allowed. The connection must also be able to be designed for high operating current load and be short-circuit-proof.
A connection of the above-mentioned type is achieved according to the invention by arranging between the two conductors to be connected a contact element with the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. A significant advantage of such a contact element, which consists of a helically wound wire with inclined turns, is that the inclination of the wire turns allows a combination of suitable contact pressure with optimally dimensioned wire for best current transmission capacity. 8402875-2 It is per se known to use an annular helical spring as a contact element between a metallic cable sheath and a grounded device housing (Swedish patent specification 131 239). In the known construction, which is only intended for dumb joints, however, the spring is not made with inclined turns and it is not included in the operating circuit. The requirements for resilience and current conductivity are therefore significantly lower than with the contact element according to the present invention.
The invention will be described in more detail in connection with exemplary embodiments shown in the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 shows in axial section an elastic contact connection made according to the invention between two concentric conductors, Fig. 2 shows a contact element included in this connection in axial section along the line II ~ II in fig. 1 before the element is mounted, Figs. 3a-3c schematically show three steps in the manufacture of the contact element, Fig. 1 schematically shows the spring characteristic of the contact element, Fig. 5 shows in axial section another embodiment of a contact connection made according to the invention, Fig. 6 shows in end view another embodiment of a contact element according to the invention and Fig. 7 shows this contact element in axial section along the line VII-VII in Fig. 6.
Kontaktelemen- tet 3 utgöres av en skruvspirallindad tråd med lutande varv såsom framgår av fig 2.Fig. 1 shows a connection between two concentric conductors 1 and 2, which are axially movable in relation to each other. The conductor 2 is tubular and encloses the end portion of the conductor 1, the outer diameter of which is smaller than the inner diameter of the conductor 2. The two conductors 1, 2 can, for example, form one phase conductor in a metal-encapsulated, gas-insulated switchgear or form contacts in a disconnector or earthing switch. Between the two conductors 1, 2 is a resilient contact element 3 mounted in a groove H in the conductor 2. The contact element 3 consists of a helically wound wire with inclined turns as shown in Fig. 2.
Lutningsvinkeln kan lämpligen ligga mellan 30 och 600.UI 8402875-2 The contact element 3 can be manufactured as shown in Figs. 3a ~ 3c by first winding a wire of suitable contact material, eg hard-drawn, silver-plated copper alloy, up to a screw spiral with, for example, 10 mm diameter and a pitch of about 2 times the wire diameter (fig. 3a). By mangling, pressing, etc., all wire turns are brought in a definite slope towards the longitudinal axis of the spiral (Fig. 3b). The angle of inclination may suitably be between 30 and 600.
The spiral is then formed into a revolution and mounted in the groove H in the conductor 2 (Fig. 1). This groove is designed in such a way that the spiral is fixed to the conductor 2 in its axial direction and obtains a suitable starting position for the radial suspension movement which provides the correct contact pressure. Each wire turn provides at least one contact surface on each conductor and forms two parallel current paths between them.
Fig H visar schematiskt hur fjäderkarakteristiken för kontaktelementet 3 ser ut, varvid s betecknar fjädringsvägen och F betecknar kontaktkraften.Fig. H schematically shows what the spring characteristic of the contact element 3 looks like, where s denotes the suspension path and F denotes the contact force.
As can be seen, the contact force is almost constant within a relatively large suspension area s1. This is a great advantage because by designing the device so that the working area of the spring will be within the area s1 it is possible to make it virtually independent of manufacturing tolerances.
The spiral 3 does not necessarily have to be round, but its turns or loops can also be elliptical, square, etc. It is important, however, that the spirals' loops are continuous, ie formed by a single wire, and that the loops are given an initial inclination in the same direction.
The contact element must be made of material that provides sufficient suspension and has good current conductivity. A suitable material in this context is beryllium copper, but in some applications other materials may also be considered, such as phosphor bronze, chromium copper or ordinary copper.
Om stöttan 8 skall vara gasavskiljande, utföres muffen 5 med en tät mellanvägg 6.Contact connections of this type can be used in many contexts. Fig. 5 shows an embodiment for gas-insulated switchgear where two coaxial conductors 1 and 2 of the same diameter are connected by a sleeve 5, which is provided with contact elements 3 according to the present invention. The contact elements are arranged in circumferential grooves H in the end portions of the sleeve. The sleeve is molded (or otherwise mounted) as a hub in an insulating support 8, which is fixed in the tubular metal housing 9 of the switchgear. If the support 8 is to be gas-separating, the sleeve 5 is made with a tight partition wall 6.
