Description

Machines are used to remove crumb from plants with fibrous leaves (remove scrims produced to expose fibers), in which the sheet is fed to a scuttle drum equipped with beaters, rotating at high speed and removing the crushing from the sheet. The described method of operation is applicable only to leaves with strong and brittle meat. Machines are used for fibrous (leather-like) leaves, in which the scutching beaters are located obliquely relative to the axis of the working drum; then the material is exposed to a shock edge across its width.

FIG. 1 shows oblique working projections; FIG. 2 and 3 show other forms of protrusions and in schematic FIG. 4 and 5 illustrate the operation of the exhaust device.

But even with the described execution of the machine, the removal of the mop from the above-mentioned skin-like leaves cannot be carried out completely cleanly, either because the very hard material still partially remains on the fiber or because it damages the fiber itself. Completely clean removal of the pulp even from the mentioned skin-like leaves with simultaneous preservation of the fibrous material can be satisfactorily achieved, according to the author's report, by supplying water with an even stream to the place where the pulp is removed. According to the present invention, this requirement is fulfilled if the air movement arising from the rapid rotation of the scutching drum is used. To this end, a part of the safety casing of the scutching drum is continued over the stripping edge in the direction of rotation of this latter, deviating from the outline of the arc of a circle approximately along the tangent plane to the drum so that the end of this part is only a few millimeters not reaching the circumference scutching bars, ending at the very edge at which the pulp is removed. The aforementioned part is made adjustable, and at the edge only enough space is left that the passage of the leaves is still possible.

The proposed machine consists of a drum A with protrusions a, which are not located parallel to the axis and remove the soil from the plants fed through the hole in the casing B. The hole passes air above the leaves, which sprays water on the leaves C at this place.

At the place of leaves passing (Fig. 4}, a kind of nozzle is obtained, the action of which manifests itself in two respects: introduced, as shown in Fig. 5, the washing water is blown in a sprayed state to the place where the wiping is removed; the suction action of the nozzle helps to ensure that the input leaves are fed without deviating to the place of removal of the cattle. At the same time, when working by hand, the above described device protects the fingers of the worker servicing the machine.
