Abstract
FIELD: chemical production. SUBSTANCE: melt of basalt with temperature of 1400 - 1500 C from furnace is fed on heated up to 1400 C skippered. Through holes of skippered melt as sprays is fed on horizontal plane of rotating small turbaned, which cuts flaky particles of given fraction. Depending on required productivity, skippered has 1 - 3 holes, diameter of which is defined by required fraction (dimensions) of flakes and is in limits of 4 - 10 mm. Skippered is built in lower part of melting furnace tray. Melt pouring out speed is 70 - 120 mm/s. Turbaned rotation speed is about 3000 revolutions per minute. Small turbaned is located below skippered by 200 - 500 mm. Simultaneously with spray of melt cutting compressed air is fed in zone of small turbaned under pressure of 2 - 4 atmospheres with amount of 3-9 m/min from general network of central compressing apparatus or individual compressor.
