Abstract

FIELD: acceleration engineering; heavy-current charged-particle accelerators with short current pulse length designed for radiation chemistry, activation analysis, fundamental investigations in high-energy physics, etc. SUBSTANCE: accelerator has high-frequency power supply 1, storage cavity 2 with two coupling ports, interferential switch 3, two circulators 4,5 inserted in channel between high-frequency power supply 1 and cavity 2 as well as between interferential switch 2 and accelerating section 6. Loose arms of circulators 4,5 are connected to input and output of delay line 7, respectively. EFFECT: improved energy of accelerated particles, improved accelerator efficiency, and reduced energy nonuniformity of beam at accelerator output. 2 dwg
