Abstract
FIELD: vibroacoustic diagnostics of turbomachines. SUBSTANCE: prior to testing by tapping machine frame, resonance frequency range is determined. One of shafts is turned and secured in position irrespective of relative position of shafts. Other shaft is turned in each angular position of the former shaft until it gains speed at which pre-measured harmonics or repetition frequency of balls coincide with resonance frequency of external frame of turbomachine at point of installation of vibration transducer, then drive is switched off. At start of free rotation, average vibration of external frame is measured. Then, during free rotation up to shaft stop average value of amplitudes, quantity and repetition frequency of pulsed vibration signals from external frame exceeding threshold level are measured. Data obtained are compared with threshold values to see if there is any flaw. Thus bearing defects can be detected during early stage of their appearance in two-shaft turbomachines.
