This invention relates to a process for grinding highly abrasive metallurgical slags and can be applied in non-ferrous metallurgy. The goal is to increase the efficiency of the grinding process due to the disintegration of slags. The method includes pre-heat treatment and grinding in ball or rod mills, rapid cooling of the slag. The method is characterized in that slag crushed to 3-5 mm is subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of 600-900 ° C and a dwell time of 5-10 minutes, as a result of which the slag particles become loose, which reduces its hardness and abrasiveness. Preliminary heat treatment of waste high-abrasive slag allows grinding it in mills before grinding the required fineness for flotation of 200 mesh with a yield of 70% by weight of this fraction. 1 il.

The invention relates to the field of non-ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the flotation processing of metallurgical slags,
(70%).The purpose of the invention is to increase the efficiency of the grinding process due to the disintegration of slags - achieved by grinding crushed (to fractions of 3-7 mm) metallurgical slag before heat treatment at a temperature of 600-900 ° C for 5-10 minutes, and then quenched in water, as a result of which the slag particles are crushed. The metallurgical slag thus treated is easily ground to the required 200 mesh (70%) for the flotation processing required for it.
The essence of the invention is explained by the technological scheme of flotation concentration of dump slags of a copper-smelting production shown in FIG. 1, where 1 is a coarse crusher, 2 is a medium crushing crusher, 3 is a fine crushing crusher, 4 is a slag heat treatment unit, 5 is a device for cooling slag in water, 6 is a mill, 7 is a flotation machine, 8 is aggregates for thickening filtering and drying concentrate.
Slag with a content of 0.5-1.0% of Cu is subjected to large, medium and fine (fraction up to 3-7 mm) crushing. Then the crushed slag is subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of 600-900 ° C for 5-10 minutes, then the slag is rapidly cooled in water, as a result of which it is brittle, which contributes to a significant decrease in the hardness and abrasiveness of the slag particles.

Thermally treated slag is ground in mills until the necessary grinding fineness for flotation is 200 mesh with a yield of this fraction of at least 70% by weight. The crushed metallurgical slag is fed to the flotation, where it is enriched to 15–20% of copper, then the enriched concentrate is subjected to thickening, filtration and drying.
Example. A portion of the slag slag of the copper plant, NPO Dzhezkazgantsvetmet, with a layer with a thickness of 3-5 mm was placed on a small metal sheet, which was laid in a muffle furnace, preheated to 400-1100 ° C. The slag was held in an oven for 2 to 12 minutes, after which it was immersed in cold water. The slag thus treated was ground in a laboratory mill for 5 minutes, after which its fractional analysis was carried out. The research results are summarized in the table.
As can be seen from the table, the pretreated slag was crushed to the required grinding fineness - 200 mesh by only 15% by weight, and with a grinding time of 10, 15 and 30 minutes, the yield of the desired fractions remained almost unchanged and reached 15.2, 15, 9 and 16.7 respectively. While after heat treatment, the slag was crushed by 30-80% by weight, with a grinding time of 5 minutes in all cases.
The following modes of heat treatment are optimal: the temperature in the furnace is 600-900 ° C and the exposure time is 5-10 minutes. At temperatures below 600 ° C, there is a sharp decrease in the mass of slag crushed to –200 mesh, and at temperatures above 900 ° C, there is practically no increase in the yield of crushed to –200 mesh. A soaking time of less than 5 minutes also dramatically reduces the yield of the slag fraction crushed to –200 mesh, and a shutter speed of 10 minutes hardly increases the yield of slag crushed to –200 mesh.
Способ измельчени высокообразив- ных металлургических шлаков позвол ет дополнительно извлекать ценные компоненты из отходов производства цветной металлургии .The method of grinding highly forged metallurgical slags allows additional extraction of valuable components from non-ferrous metallurgy production wastes.
