Description
METHOD FOR DETERMINING HEAVY ELEMENTS IN
A x-ray radiometric method of laboratory analysis of ores and minerals for the purpose of determining the content of heavy elements in them is known, which involves exciting the atoms of the elements being analyzed using primary nuclear radiation, and then recording the characteristic radiation of the excited atoms. When implementing the method, double measurements of the sample with different filters are carried out. The selection of the characteristic radiation of a detectable element is carried out using Ross filters. The material composition of the sample and the background of scattered radiation are taken into account based on the results of similar measurements of a reference sample with the content of the element being determined close to zero.
The content of the analyzed element in the test sample is determined by comparison with the known content of the same element in another, reference sample.
The known method requires special sample preparation and is practically unsuitable for studies under natural conditions, since it does not allow excluding scattered radiation and taking into account changes in the natural composition and density of the test medium. ORE AND OREA
Первый участок выбираетс в области, соответствующей характеристическому излучению элемента, поэтому интенсивность излучени в этом участке определ етс to determine the content of the desired element, it is obtained by simultaneously measuring the intensities in two sections of the secondary radiation spectrum, selected on opposite sides of the K-edge of the element being analyzed. The first section is selected in the region corresponding to the characteristic radiation of the element, so the radiation intensity in this area is determined by
суммой интенсивностей характеристическогоthe sum of the intensities of the characteristic
In the second section

Due to the proximity of the absorption coefficients in selectable energy regions and the uniformity of the dependence of the intensities of the characteristic and once scattered radiation on the material composition and density of the medium, including the desired element, the intensity ratio, which is chosen as the main parameter to quantify the content of the element, does not depend on composition of medium and linearly depends on the content of the analytical
This is confirmed by experimental measurements in a well at a field site with a pig-barium instrument. The same measurements showed the possibility of simultaneous determination of porcine and bari at
The ratio between the spectral intensities and the content of lead and barium turned out to be linear over a wide range of concentrations of these elements.
Предлагаемый способ может быть использован при каротаже скважин, при опробовании стенок горных выработок, а также при экспресс-анализах продуктов обогащени и переработки руд в процессе эксплуатации месторождений .The proposed method can be used for logging wells, testing the walls of mine workings, as well as for rapid analysis of enrichment products and processing of ores during the operation of deposits.
