Description

This invention relates to the protection of coatings against biodegradation by microorganisms, and specifically to the use of nickel diode as a fungistatic to protect conversion and polymer coatings from biodegradation. Previously, this substance was used as a chemical reagent. The purpose of the invention is to increase the effectiveness of protection.

For the use of diode nickel, 0.05-0.5% aqueous solutions are prepared as a fungistatic and applied to the surface of conversion or polymer coatings of the structures by spraying or brushing. The substance is retained in the micro-asperities of the surface and pores and protects the material from bio-damage by microorganisms.

The test of the fungistaticity of the proposed and known substances is carried out on a mixture of fungal strains identified under the operating conditions of the equipment and deposited in the crop collection of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (Table 1). Samples of filter paper, as well as phosphated FC, LCP EP-51 (epoxy protective enamel), silicone coating KO-19, molotkovo- enamel ML-12, applied on Art. Tests are performed under laboratory conditions. The mixture is a suspension of biocultures, 1 ml of which contains 1-2 million spores. Chapapek-Doksa nutrient medium is added to this mixture at the rate of 1.5 vol.%. The test solution is applied to the sample surface with a tampon and after 15-20 minutes 5-6 drops of a spore suspension in a nutrient medium. Samples incubated for 45 days in Petri dishes at a humidity of 95-98% and 20-25 ° C.

2.To assess the corrosivity, samples of plates from Art. 3 of the humidity chamber under salt fog conditions and without it are used. The results are shown in table 2.
