Abstract
This invention relates to radio measurements. The purpose of the invention is to improve the accuracy of determining the effective scattering area (EPR) of an object with a known set of impulse reactions for different scattering angles. The essence of this method for determining the ESR of an object is that the object is irradiated with a broadband signal that is a mirror copy of one of the object's pulsed responses over time. The intensity of the scattered signal is measured at the point in time when it reaches a maximum. Then, the EPR 4LK2E2 / E5 is calculated from F-le, where R is the distance from the object to the point of measuring the intensity of the scattered signal; Е is the maximum value of the measured scattered signal strength; Es is the energy of the irradiating broadband signal. 3 il.
Description
The invention relates to the field of radio measurements, in particular, to the problem of measuring the effective scattering area (EPR), and can be used in radar systems.
Целью изобретени вл етс повышение точности определени эффективной площади рассе ни (ЭПР) объекта с известным набором импульсных реакций дл различных углов рассе ни .The aim of the invention is to improve the accuracy of determining the effective scattering area (EPR) of an object with a known set of impulse reactions for different scattering angles.
FIG. Figure 1 shows a structural electrical circuit diagram of a device that implements a method for measuring the effective area of scattering of a sphere to the light; in fig. 2, 3 - correlation function of the sphere on the lumen
The device contains a generator 1 wideband signal, consistent with the object in a selected angular direction, a broadband radiating antenna 2, the object 3 with a known impulse response
в данном направлении, широкополосную приемную антенну 4, регистрирующий блок 5 дл отсчета максимума коррел ционной функции.in this direction, the broadband receiving antenna 4, the recording unit 5 for reading the maximum of the correlation function.
The device works as follows
The broadband signal generator 1 generates a pulse, the shape of which corresponds to one of the mirror copies of the object's pulse response 3 from a given set of pulse reactions for different scattering angles. Such a pulse can be generated, for example, by using a digital-to-analog conversion system, which stores the pulse shape data. This pulse is then emitted by a wideband antenna 2. Broadband receiving antenna A receives a direct signal and a signal compressed by object 3. As a result of the irradiation Object 3 signal.

Таким образом, сигналы от объекта 3 и сигналы пр мого прохождени из антенны 2 в антенну 4 резко различаютс по форме, что позвол ет осуществить четкую селекцию сигналов, так как селекци по времени прихода в данном случае затруднена.if the waveform exactly corresponds to the mirror copy of the impulse response, in the direction of receiving antenna 4, object 3 re-emits a signal resulting from the in-phase addition of fields from all elements of the surface of object 3, while on the time scale this signal takes the form of a sharp high burst in the form of -functions Thus, signals from object 3 and direct signals from antenna 2 to antenna 4 differ sharply in shape, which allows for a clear selection of signals, since selection by time of arrival is difficult in this case.
From the receiving antenna 4, the signal enters the recording unit 5, where the signals are selected and the maximum value of the signal from the object 3 is counted. In the event that one of the signals of a given set exactly matches the shape of the mirror copy of the impulse response, the signal on the output of the recording unit 5 is the maximum, and the value of its maximum allows us to accurately calculate the EPR of the object 3 by the mathematical formula:
4jrR2i-, ts 4jrR2i-, ts
где R - рассто ние от объекта до точки измерени напр жений рассе нного сигнала;where R is the distance from the object to the point of measurement of the voltage of the scattered signal;
Es - энерги облучающего широкополосного сигнала;Es is the energy of the irradiating broadband signal;
E is the maximum value of the measured scattered signal strength.
If the signal is not matched with object 5. then the measurement accuracy decreases, since the scattered signal does not contain all the information about the EPR of the object.
For example, consider the effect of separating the direct and reflected signals during irradiation of a perfectly conducting sphere on

The impulse response of the sphere to the light is presented in FIG. 2. When matching the impulse response of the sphere with the probe signal, the scattered signal is a correlation function of the probe signal. The compression ratio is 2, the form of the reflected signal (Fig. 3) differs significantly from the direct signal, which makes it possible to separate the direct and reflected signals and count the maximum of the correlation function of the reflected signal.
