Изобретение относитс  к строительству, в частности к инженерно-геологическим изыскани м и исследовани м грунтов в основани х и сооружени х. Цель изобретени  - упрощение конструкции и повышение точности испытаний. Устройство состоит из камеры бокового давлени  1 с основанием 2, св занным стойками 3 с гидроцилиндром 4, крышкой 9 и крестовиной 13. В гидроцилиндре 4 установлен поршень 5, жестко св занный со штоком 19. В крышке 9 размещен плунжер 10, взаимодействующий через шарик 11 с винтовым прессом 12. Соотношение площадей поперечного сечени  штока 19 и поршн  5 до начала испытаний выбирают в соответствии с прин тым программой испытаний соотношением осевого и радиального напр жений. При испытани х образец 6 площадью поперечного сечени , равной площади штока 19, став т в резиновой оболочке между штоком 19 и основанием 2. Герметизируют зазор между крышкой 9 и корпусом 1.
