Description
A known method for producing diphenylolpropane by condensation of phenol and acetone, taken in a stoichiometric ratio, in a medium of sulfuric acid in the presence of hydrogen sulfide.
40°.The proposed method, in comparison with the known, allows to increase the product yield and carry out the reaction within 2-3 hours, as well as reduce the consumption of sulfuric acid. This is achieved by the fact that the process is carried out in an environment supported by up to 73-74% of the spent sulfuric acid produced by diphenylolpropane. The reaction is carried out at a temperature of about 40 °.
The proposed method can be carried out in the following way.
A 930 g of 73.7% sulfuric acid prepared from spent sulfuric acid produced by diphenylolpropane was charged into an enamelled hermetically sealed pot equipped with a root stirrer, a thermometer, a jacket and tubes for gas inlet and outlet, for which 795 g of spent acid was taken (70.5%) and 135 g of battery acid (93%) —After loading sulfuric acid, 30 g of toluene, 200 g (2.13 mol) of phenol and 61.7 g (1.065 mol ) acetone. The kettle is hermetically sealed and with stirring of the reaction mass hydrogen sulfide from the gasometer is fed into it, and warm water from the thermostat is fed into the kettle shirt. Hydrogen sulfide is fed at a rate of G l / h, and a total of 12 liters for the reaction. 20 minutes after the start of the reaction, the temperature of the reaction mass is 40 °, at which time it is allowed to hold for 2 hours. At the end of the exposure, the reaction mass is cooled to a temperature of 20 ° and the diphenylolpropane formed during the condensation is filtered off.
Отработанную серную кислоту (в количестве 840 г с концентрацией 70,4%) возвращают в производство дл подкреплени ее до 73-74% и последующего использовани при получении дифенилолпропана .The spent sulfuric acid (in the amount of 840 g with a concentration of 70.4%) is returned to production for reinforcement to 73-74% and subsequent use in the preparation of diphenylolpropane.
147590-2. S60 g of crude diphenylolpropane with a content of 4.83% phenol and 21.7% of sulfuric acid is obtained. During the condensation process, 91.3% of the phenol entered the reaction (if the condensation is carried out in a freshly prepared and not in the spent acid, then 82.5% of phenol is reacted).
150-156,5°.After recrystallization of the crude product by a known method, 200 g of diphenylol prolane with m.p. 150-156,5 °.
