Description

Methods are known for measuring the wall thickness of glassware using a microscope and illuminating the product with rays of transmitted light. However, the accuracy of such measurement methods is insufficient.

In the described method, in order to increase the accuracy of measurements and to obtain in the objective of a microscope an image of a longitudinal section with sharply defined boundaries, glassware is washed outside with an immersion liquid, and inside it vacuum is created or the product is filled with gas.

FIG. 1 shows a diagram of an apparatus for carrying out the method; in fig. 2 - microscope field of view.

The method for measuring the wall thickness of glassware is that the product 1 to be measured is mounted on a stand 2 in a bath 3 filled with immersion liquid, and illuminated with transmitted light from source 4. The light passes through a microscope objective 5 on which the bath is placed on the sample table 3, then through the glass 6 in the bottom 7 of the bath, passes through the layer of immersion liquid, the product wall, leaves the liquid and enters the eye of the microscope 8. At the same time, the inner part of the article / is observed in the form of a sharply delineated black field 9, the distance between the boundaries 10 and // which, corresponding to the glass – liquid and glass – vacuum transition, is measured with the aid of a microscope scale 12. If it is necessary to determine the difference in the thickness of the product / it is rotated while continuously observing the position of the boundaries 10 and //. The first one remains in place, since the product 1 is pressed continuously to the support 2 during rotation, and the second, as the wall thickness is changed at the measurement site, is removed, then approaches it.

д.) с высокой степенью точности, повысить производительность при проведении операций контрол  и улучщить качество продукции .The described method allows to determine the wall thickness of glass products as industrial (radio tubes, such as traveling wave lamps, electric lamps), and for household purposes (bottles, dishes, etc.) with a high degree of accuracy, to increase productivity during control operations and improve product quality.

Prel inventions

A method of measuring the thickness of glassware using a microscope and illuminating the product with rays of transmitted light, characterized in that, in order to improve the measurement accuracy and to obtain a longitudinal section in the lens of the microscope with sharply defined boundaries, the glassware is washed outside with immersion liquid and the inside is created by vacuum or gas filling.
