В результате расчетов получены результаты п, = 1,51831 и п2 = = 1,51628, что соответствует стеклу К8 с точностью до двух единиц пятого знака после запятой.</p><p> The invention relates to the field of measurement of optical parameters of substances, in particular, to angular methods of measuring the refractive index. <p> The purpose of the invention is to simplify the method for determining the refractive index of wedge-shaped samples. </ p>
<p> In FIG. 1 shows a diagram of the device that implements the method; on </ p>

<p> 3 </ p>
<p> FIG. 2 - the course of the rays in a wedge-shaped sample. </ P>
<p> The device includes a light source 1, a condenser 2 mounted along the beam, the focus of which is the input aperture 3 and the lens 4 and the beam splitter 5 successively placed with two channels formed behind it, in one of which the wedge-shaped one is successively placed sample 6 and the mirror surface 7, and in the other there are successively placed the output lens 8 and the eyepiece micrometer 9. </ p>
<p> The method is as follows. </ p>
<p> The mirror surface 7 is set normally to the incident monochromatic radiation, the wedge-shaped sample 6 is placed in front of the mirror surface 7 and four autocollimation images are observed in the field of view of the eyepiece micrometer 9. Positioning the wedge so that the first pair of autocollimation images obtained by reflection only from the mirror surface and from the mirror surface through the wedge 10, 11 (figure 2), or at least one of them is located inside the second pair of images obtained only from the wedge 12 and 13 (Fig. 2). Measure the distance 1 (</ sub> and between the corresponding pairs of autocollimation images and calculate the refractive index η of the sample using the formula 1 < n </ sub> = </ p>
<p> Angular · distance between images obtained by reflection of rays from the first and second along the radiation of the wedge surfaces, with normal rays falling on the first surface of the wedge sample </ p>

<p> as follows: </ p>

<p> (2) </ p>
<ul style = "list-style: none;"> <li>
<p> - wedge angle; </ p> </ li> <li>
<p> is the refractive index of the wedge-shaped sample. </ p> </ li> </ ul>
<p> When installing a wedge in front of the mirror surface, so that the surface and the first in the direction of the radiation, the surface of the wedge is located normally to the incident radiation, we get two autocollimation images: the first is only from the mirror, </ p>
<p> 1458779 </ p>
<p> and the second - formed by the rays that have passed through the wedge, reflected from the mirror and again passed through the wedge. In this case, the angular distance between this pair of images is related to the angle of the wedge by the dependence of the form: </ p>

<p> 15 </ p>
<p> 20 </ p>
<p> 25 </ p>

<p> 35 </ p>
<p> Thus, the simultaneous acquisition of two pairs of autocollimation images and the measurement of distances 1 Ί </ sub> and 1 2 </ sub> between them makes it possible to eliminate the operation for measuring the wedge angle and thereby simplify the method. ' Finally, the refractive index is calculated by the formula (1). </ P>
<p> In a specific variant of determining the refractive index of a wedge-shaped sample, a mercury lamp with a radiation wavelength of 5461 A and a sodium lamp with a wavelength of radiation of 5893 A were used as a monochromatic light source. Distances 1, and 1 4 </ sub> between autocollimation images of the input aperture were measured at the focus of the output lens using an eyepiece micrometer. As a result of the calculations, the results obtained are n, = 1.51831 and n 2 </ sub> = = 1.51628, which corresponds to K8 glass with an accuracy of two units of the fifth decimal place. </ P>
