Description
The invention relates to analytical chemistry, in particular to methods for the quantitative determination of aliphatic sulfides, and can be applied in the analysis of air in the oil, petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, pulp and paper, microbiological, and other industries.
The aim of the invention is to increase the sensitivity of the determination of aliphatic sulfides.
Example. A portion of the aliphatic sulfide is dissolved in a volumetric flask containing ethyl alcohol, and adjusted to the required concentration of sulfide by dilution. An aliquot of 5 ml of solution is taken in a test tube and 1 ml of 0.04-0.06 is added and. solution of copper chloride in ethanol. In the analysis, it is preferable to use a solution of copper chloride (two-water) in the indicated concentration limits, as well. as a decrease or increase in the content of chloric copper in the solution shifts the values of optical densities to unwanted areas (less than 0.05 and more than 1.2), which leads to an increase in the measurement error
After the solutions were displaced, after 10 min, the optical density was measured using a KFK photoelectrocolorimeter in a cuvette at 3 mm at a wavelength of 400 nm.
Based on the value of optical density, the content of aliphatic sulfide in the analyzed solution is determined from the calibration curve. The results of the determination of aliphatic sulfides by the described method are given in the table.

The predlagayemy method allows the determination of aliphatic sulfides when their concentration in ethyl alcohol is from 3.64 to 890 µg / ml with an error that is permissible during physical and chemical analyzes.
The known method makes it possible to determine the concentrations of methyl propyldibutyl and diisobutyl sulfide in the range from 877 to 1380 µg / ml.
Thus, the advantages of the proposed method in comparison with the known method are an increase in the sensitivity of the determination of aliphatic sulfides, as well as the elimination of the use of toxic reagents (tetracyanoethylene, chloroform and acetonitrile), which makes it possible to create safe working conditions during analysis.
