  • Separation Of Suspended Particles By Flocculating Agents (AREA)

Description

It is known that flocculants are used to accelerate the purification of brines sent to electrolysis. Polyacrylamide, starch, hydrolyzed polynitryl acryl, etc. are used for this purpose.

However, the effectiveness of polyacrylamide, which is a very weak polyelectrolyte, is relatively small, since polyacrylamide, accelerates the sedimentation of the main mass of sediment in brine, does not produce a transparent brine. The same, but less so for starch.

At the same time, pre-hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile, which is a strong anionic polyelectrolyte when added to brine in an amount of 10 mg1 l, gives good results, increasing the deposition rate by 4-5 times as compared to cleaning without flocculant.

20 - 40%.The proposed new method for purification of chlorine chlorine production using polyacrylamide or starch as flocculants consists in the fact that, in order to increase the efficiency of flocculants and intensify the purification process, polyacrylamide or starch is pre-hydrolyzed by 20-40%.

40%.Experiments have shown that the effectiveness of pre-hydrolyzed 20-40% polyacrylamide and starch on precipitation rate and brine transparency is highest when the degree of hydrolysis is 30% and drops sharply when the degree of hydrolysis is less than 20% %

1.Example 1. Experiments on the use of hydrolyzed polyacrylamide on an industrial scale for the continuous purification of brine using the illuminator TsNII-1-MPS gave the results shown in Table. one.
