Description

There is a method of surface modification by chemical grafting of polymers, for example, by treating a mixture of a filler and the corresponding monomer in a vibrating mill.

It is also known to obtain graft polymers from vinyl chloride, acrylonitrile and methyl methacrylate by organic-based radiation.

A method is proposed for modifying mineral bodies by forming on their surface a thin polymer layer of vinyl monomers under the action of ionizing radiation.

Основой дл  получени  привитых полимеров служит углеродна  сажа и порощкообразна  окись магни .Methyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile and vinyl chloride are used as monomers. The basis for the graft polymers is carbon black and powdered magnesium oxide.

The proposed method for obtaining graft polymers on mineral bodies by the action of ionizing radiation on mineral bodies and monomer pairs is not known.

The result of ionizing radiation is the activation of the surface of the modified substance, which is manifested in its good adhesion to various kinds of polymeric media, which contributes to the improvement of the quality of products obtained from mixtures containing modified filler.

Example 1. 20 g of carbon black are irradiated in the presence of methyl methacrylate vapors at 70 ° for 10 hours at an electron accelerator with a dose rate of about 2.10 eV / cm sec. After irradiation on soot, 1.5 wt. % polymer not removable by solvents.

Example 2. 20 g of carbon black is irradiated in the presence of acrylonitrile vapor for 13 hours under the same conditions. About 10 wt. % insoluble polymer.

Example 3. 20 g of carbon black are irradiated at 20 ° in the presence of vinyl chloride vapor under the same conditions. On soot, about 2 wt. % insoluble polymer.

% нерастворимого полимера., , Example 4. 11 g of powdered magnesium oxide is irradiated at 70 ° in the presence of methyl methacrylate vapors under the same conditions for 11. hour. On particles of magnesium oxide, 100 wt. % insoluble polymer.,,

The method of modifying the surface of mineral bodies by forming a thin layer of polymer on it that cannot be removed by solvents, characterized in that it is subjected to ionizing radiation in the presence of vinyl monomers in order to activate the surface of the modified substance, for example metal oxides.
