The purpose of the invention is to reduce water absorption.
The method of hydrophobicizing claydite involves treating the granules with methyl or ethyl silicate sodium, heated with the granules of claydite, and then the residual product of thermal decomposition of coal, the cooling being carried out in water, the residual product of thermal decomposition of COAL includes heavy resin and neutral oils separated from light resin. To hydrophobize claydite, a mixture of neutral oils and heavy resin is used in a ratio of ma.h 0.3: 1.0. Products are obtained at a pilot industrial plant in the processing of brown coal and are characterized by the following desirable properties.

i Пример. Керамзитовый гравий во вращающемс барабане нагревают до 110-170 С или используют после печи обжига с этой температурой, затем в процессе вращени барабана через центральное торцовое отверстие в течение 5 мин пульверизатором впрыскивают цд смачивани гранул 1%-ный раствор ГКЖ-11; после продувки объем барабана воздухом в это же отверстие вставл ют желоб с перфорированньм днищем дл равномерного распределеi Example Clay gravel in a rotating drum is heated to 110-170 ° C or used after a kiln with this temperature, then during rotation of the drum through the central face hole for 5 minutes with a spray gun, 1% solution of GKZH-11 is injected with a spray bottle; after purging, the volume of the drum with air is inserted into the same opening by a chute with a perforated bottom for even distribution

Обработанный керамзитовый гравий имеет равное, полугл нцевое черное покрытие .nor the length of the drum pour liquid mixture. A heated fluidized mixture of heavy and light resin, a product of the thermochemical destruction of brown coal, is introduced into the rotating drum through a groove in a rotating drum. After 20-30 minutes of mixing, the drum is stopped, the contents of the drum are cooled by air blowing and at 60-80 seconds, the treated clay is poured into cold water to prevent the grains from sticking to each other. Treated expanded clay gravel has an equal, semi-gloss black coating.
Examples of the proposed method and the properties of the processed filler compared with the known are presented in the table.
Aerosol treatment of aqueous hydrophobic preparations from NGL ensures uniform processing of the entire effective surface of claydite and chemical fixation of hydrophobic substances on a silicate substrate, changing the properties of the surface layer at the molecular level, its modification with an organic substance, which contributes to the adhesion of the main film-forming substance - a mixture heavy and light resin.
Reducing the moisture absorption of the claydite ensures the preservation of stable thermal and hydroisolation properties. The treated clay (gravel and sand) can be used as a bulk insulation material in conditions of excessive moisture and for the preparation of asphalt ceramite concrete.
