The invention relates to medicine and can be used to treat respiratory failure by introducing oxygen-enriched gas into the nasal cavity.
The aim of the invention is to enable the insertion of a suction catheter into each nasal passage while at the same time reducing respiratory gas losses and traumatic device through cannula design.
FIG. 1 shows a device for introducing gas into the nasal cavity, general view; in fig. 2 - cannula in molten working condition, longitudinal section.
Трубки 2 св заны между собой трубкой 9, установленной на них с возможностью перемещени .The device contains two cannulas 1 with tubes 2 for connecting to a gas source and a flexible wire bridge 3 between cannulas 1. Each cannula consists of a central supporting element 4 made of an elastic material - a flexible wire - with a spherical supporting end 5 and an elastic shell 6 of a pear shaped shape - in the straightened working state with slots 7 at the support end 5 of the supporting element 4. It washes 3 and the supporting elements 4 are interconnected by means of a spiral coil 8 and made in one piece from a single piece of flexible dies. The tubes 2 are interconnected by a tube 9 mounted on them with the possibility of movement.
The device works in the following way.
Bridge 3 establishes the distance between the cannulas 1, and the elements 4 establish their form, providing a convenient and atraumatic location of the cannulas 1 in the patient's nasal passages. The tube 9 fix tube 2 and the device as a whole on the patient's head.
Tubes 2 are connected to a gas source (oxygen, helium-oxygen mixture, etc.). When gas is supplied through the cannula 1, the elastic sheath 6 acquires a predetermined pear shape, and, due to its elasticity, any other shape that most closely approximates the individual anatomical features of the nasal passages, excluding the emission of gas supplied to the nasal passages at the same time. The gas in each nasal passage in this case flows through the margins formed when the edges of the through slots 7 are moved apart by the supplied gas. The exit when gas is supplied in both nasal passages is made through the mouth and nose due to the deformation of the shell 6 and the gap formed in this way: Between the shell and the walls of the nasal passage; With gas in one nasal passage, exhalation is carried out through the second nasal passage, the rotor, and partially through the nasal passage, into which gas is supplied, for deformation of the sheath 6. If necessary, periodic or permanent removal of the contents of the nasal passages to maintain their permeability to the nasal passages suction catheters are inserted through which the contents of the nasal passages are aspirated. At the same time, gas leakage at the moment of inhalation is eliminated by creating the necessary tightness when the sheath 6 is fitted to the walls of the nasal passage and the suction catheter. After completion of treatment of respiratory failure, the elastic tube 9 is moved through the tubes, cannulas 1 are removed from the nasal passages and the device is removed from the patient's head.
By ensuring the adaptation of the cannula of the device to the anatomical features of the nasal passages at the moment the gas enters the nasal cavity, the device reduces respiratory gas losses, makes it possible to introduce suction catheters into new passages, eliminating gas leaks, reducing the trauma of the device and ensuring convenient patient placement of the cannula in the nasal passages.
