Давно известно, что при восстановлении в присутствии кислот азоксии азосоединений бензидины образуютс  в одной операции. Но до сих пор не было известно пригодного дл  техники способа, основанного на применении , в качестве восстановителей, металлов в кислой среде.It has long been known that when reduced in the presence of azoxy acid azo compounds, benzidines are formed in one operation. Предметом насто щего изобретени   вл етс  способ получени  бензидиновых оснований (бензидина, толидина, дианизидина и т. д.) путем восстанавливани  азокси - или азо - соединений цинком или железом и путем перегруппировки гидразосоединений , причем реакци  восстановлени  и перегруппировки производитс  в одну фазу в присутствии индифферентного органического растворител , как то ксилола, сольвентнафта, керосина и т. д. при действии минеральной , в особенности, серной кислоты .The object of the present invention is a method for producing benzidine bases (benzidine, tolidine, dianisidine, etc.) by reducing the azoxy - or azo - compounds with zinc or iron and by rearranging the hydrazo compounds, and the reduction and rearrangement reaction is performed in one phase in the presence of indifferent organic solvent, such as xylene, solvent naphtha, kerosene, etc., under the action of a mineral, especially sulfuric acid.

Бензидины обычно получались внесением гидразосоединений в водную сол ную кислоту и последущим осаждением их в виде сульфатов. При получении гидразосоединений из нитросоединений посредством железа и едкой щелочи, после экстракции реакционной смеси, получаетс  раствор соответствующего гидразосоединени  в углеводороде . Автор пришел к заключению, что нет надобности в изолировании гидразосоединени , но гораздо выгоднее полученный раствор гидразосоединени  употребить тотчас - же дл  перегруппировки действием минеральной кислоты; в случае употреблени  серной кислоты, в одной операции соедин ютс  две: перегруппировка и осаждение. По наблюдени м автора, при работе обычным способом получаетс  до 15% и больше дифенилина, при работе же предлагаемым способом количество дифенилина может быть значительно понижено (до 5 - 6%).Benzidines are usually obtained by introducing hydrazo compounds in aqueous hydrochloric acid and their subsequent precipitation in the form of sulfates. The author came to the conclusion that there is no need to isolate the hydrazo-compound, but it is much more advantageous to use the resulting solution of the hydrazo-compound immediately to regroup with the action of a mineral acid; in the case of the use of sulfuric acid, in one operation two are connected: a rearrangement and a precipitation. According to the author's observations, when working in the usual way, up to 15% or more of diphenylin is obtained, while at the same time the proposed method works, the amount of diphenylin can be significantly reduced (to 5 - 6%).
