Description

The invention relates to methods for controlling the needles and leaf-eating, as well as other types of forest pests that live in tree crowns.

The known methods of dealing with these pests have the disadvantages that after carrying out the preparatory operations it is required to roll selective (model) trees, to cut branches of crowns on them, as well as to carry out a laborious operation to clear ground sites using low transportable canvas bed curtains spread out under crowns of selective (model) trees, often damaged by sawn branches and crowns of fallen trees falling on them from a height.

In addition, the inconvenience of the known methods is that the cutting of branches and crowns of trees are laborious and dangerous, requiring workers to qualify a steepleader with special training, as well as agility and ability to work and cut down branches at a greater height. The inconvenience of the known methods also lies in the insufficient accuracy of determining the degree of infestation of forest areas by biological species of pests, since after felling and cutting the branches, the caterpillars spill to the sides (from the cleaned sheet and the tarpaulin), thus distorting the infection rate.

The proposed method is not only deprived of these disadvantages, but also contains the advantages that under the canopy of selective (modest) trees, bed curtains are made of gauze cuts, which are illuminated on carts, which are driven into the ground. In their upper part, the pegs have clefts directed toward the center of the rectangle. At the corners of the cut gauze do knots and hang it in the crevices of stakes. Sinkers are placed in the middle part of the gauze canopy, thanks to which it takes a trough-like shape.

FIG. I depicts a canopy of gauze (side view), fastened by knots in the crevices of stakes; in fig. 2-bed curtains with sinkers, plan view.

Chemical treatment of trial plots or crowns of sample (model) trees at these sites is carried out with a strong dose of d
