Description

Existing methods for measuring high temperatures require very complicated and expensive equipment. For example, due to the extremely small electromotive forces developed by thermocouples, very complex potentiometric measurement methods have to be applied.

The proposed method is distinguished by the simplicity and low cost of the equipment used and consists in measuring high temperatures by the magnitude of the ion current arising between two electrodes mounted in a hermetic tube of heat-resistant material placed in an environment whose temperature is measured. A constant or alternating voltage is applied to the electrodes.

The method of measuring high temperatures by the magnitude of the ion current flowing between two electrodes placed in the medium under investigation, characterized in that an alternating voltage of industrial frequency is applied to the electrodes, and the resulting ion current is measured by an alternating current technical device or a magnetoelectric device through a cuprox rectifier.
