Description

Употребл емые дл  этой цели магнитостатические головки имеют весьма низкую чувствительность и требуют применени  усилителей с большим коэффициентом усилени .In conventional heads, for reproducing signals recorded on a ferromagnetic carrier, the level of the output signal taken from the head is obtained as being proportional to the first derivative of the magnetic field strength of the carrier with respect to time. In a number of special applications of the method of magnetic recording of sound and non-sound signals, an output signal is required that is proportional to the instantaneous value of the magnetic field strength of the recorded signal. Magnetostatic heads used for this purpose have very low sensitivity and require the use of amplifiers with a high gain factor.

In the described magnetron head, an increase in sensitivity is achieved by the fact that a diode is used to obtain a signal proportional to the magnetic field of the carrier, in which a magnetron effect occurs when an external field is applied. A disk-shaped diode is installed in one of the gaps of the toroidal magnetic frame of the reproduction head, past which the sound carrier is transported past the second gap. The cathode of the diode is oriented along the magnetic field lines in the gap. The anode is mounted axially relative to the cathode. As a result of the appearance of the magnetron effect, with an increase in the magnetic field strength, some of the electrons emitted from the cathode surface do not reach the anode, and the anode current of the diode decreases. A change in the voltage drop across the resistance included in the anode circuit of the diode is used as a useful signal. The head can be used to reproduce very low frequency signals (from zero). The upper limit of the reproduced frequencies is determined by the speed of movement of the carrier and the width of the gap of the head.
