The invention relates to porositic metallurgy, in particular to the production of sintered structural products with protective coatings.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the corrosion resistance and strength of coatings on articles.
The essence of the proposed method is the impregnation of porous sintered articles with a silicone fluid, the solvent of which is ethyl silicate — a mixture of silicon dioxide SiO2, tetraethoxysilane, and odigomers, formed as a result of partial hydrolysis of the latter. For example, the commercially available ETS-32 product contains 50-65% of non-hydrolyzed tetraethaxysilane and 30-34% dispersed SiO2 sol. The viscosity of ethyl silicate is 12 seconds in OZ-4 and slowly increases with the introduction of TCG.
The use of ethyl silicate as a solvent instead of gasoline provides a more complete blockage of the pores due to the fact that during the heat treatment process the dispersed SiOj sol turns into a bulk gel that clogs the pores of the product. In addition, the low volatility of tetraethoxysilane (compared to gasoline I with kerosene) creates urls to form a dense polymer mass during the heat treatment process that reliably closes the pores.

40% solution of hydrophobic silicone liquid of Grade 136-41 GROWTH 10834-76 in ethyl silicate of ETS-32 brand for 30 minutes after their preliminary vacuuming in a special installation. Then, the impregnating composition is polymerized by heating the sample to 150 ± 10 ° C for 90 minutes, the surface of the sample is cleaned from the polymer film by vibrating tamping in the abrasive mixture for 2 hours. The samples treated in this way are coated with a 15 micron electro-chemical method.
