The invention relates to devices for preparing the ends of optical fibers prior to their connection and can be used in the installation of fiber-optic communication lines. A device for removing a polymer coating from an optical fiber, equipped with a clamping mechanism with V-grooves, is known. Across a wire groove across the groove, which is used to cut the polymer sheath for subsequent removal from the end of the fiber 1. However, the known device does not allow splitting of optical fibers with the formation of a flat end surface, as it is intended to remove the sheath from the fiber. The closest to the present invention is a device for cutting optical fibers with an optical fiber clamping mechanism, a cutting element, a movable under a spring-loaded plate with a curved surface that is moveable to the cutting tool, and a key actuator for controlling the device, all mechanisms are housed in a common housing 2. However, a JTO device can be used only for one operation of preparing the ends of optical fibers, splitting optical fibers without removing the polymer y span of the socket portion. In addition, the design of a cutting tool having a cutting face brought into contact with fibers with a slide on its surface, places very high demands on the surface cleanliness and precision of the cutting face, and if present, microscopic irregularities on the surface of the cutting face lead to at the point of contact of the fiber with the cutting tool of the region of microcracks and micrographs and impairs the transfer properties of the fiber at the point of connection with another object. The purpose of the invention is to improve the cut quality of optical fibers with a polymeric sheath. This goal is achieved by the fact that in a device for cutting optical fibers containing a key-driven fiber clamping mechanism, cutting and tooling, a movable spring-loaded plate with a curved surface, a movable spring-loaded plate. made with an autonomous drive mounted on the support element of the clamping mechanism, which is equipped with a device for the removed polymer shell, and the cutting tool is made with a point tip and fixed rotatably in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the optical fiber. FIG. 1 shows a device for processing the ends of optical fibers, a general view; in fig. 2 is a view A of FIG. one; in FIG. 3, section BB in FIG. one; in fig. 4 shows a section B-B in FIG. . The device consists of a housing 1 in which an upper (fixed) unit is mounted, comprising a block 2 with a V-shaped groove 3, formed on its lower plane; in which the cutting element 5 is fixed on the axis 4. The position of the knife 6 with the dot tip 7 in the element 5 is fixed by the screw 8 and can be changed as necessary when adjusting the device. The element 5 can rotate around the axis 4. In addition, the supporting cup 9 and the lower assembly are mounted in the housing 1, which contains a block 10 with a V-shaped groove 11 formed on the upper surface of the block 10 and located strictly opposite the V-shaped groove 3 of the block 2. Inside the unit 10 is mounted a movable plate 12 with a spring-loaded head 13. On the lower plane of the block 10, a mechanism of key actuators is fixed, consisting of a support element 14. on which a frame 15 with a key 16 is mounted, as well as a spherical head 17. A key 16 and a head 17 installed ta that the key 16 is in contact with the spring-loaded head 13, and the spherical head 17 is in contact with the key 18 fixed on the axle 19 in the housing 1, and the elements 13 and 16 are connected into a single mobile unit by means of a spring bracket 20. In the clamp The mechanism consisting of blocks 2 and 10 with V-shaped grooves 3 and 11, on facing planes facing each other, has holes 21-24 through which the thin string 25 is passed. The tension in fixing the string is carried out by screws 26 and 27. The device works as follows. The optical fiber is introduced into the opening 28 of the housing 1 and is stirred in the V-shaped groove 11. By rotating the key 18 around the axis 19, the block 10 is raised with the optical fiber before it contacts the block 2. The optical fiber is tightly clamped by the walls of the V-grooves, page 25 cuts into the protective sheath of the fiber. After that, the optical fiber is slightly rotated and, after loosening the compressive force, it is pulled out of the casing to such a length so as to locate the point of the alleged fiber breaking by the front tip 7 of the cutting element.
Further, pressing the key 16 causes the plate 12 with a curved surface to move towards the cutting element 5. The plate 12 comes into contact with the optical fiber, pulling it with a certain force, adjustable spring 30. The cutting element 5 is in the position when the knife is raised. By rotating the cutting element 5 around the axis 4, the knife is lowered and the optical fiber is cut, after which the fiber is broken, forming a flat, perpendicular to the fiber axis.
Then keys 16 and 18 are released and deist
By springing the springs 29-32, the device returns to its original position and the optical fiber is removed from it.
The invention makes it possible to achieve a technical effect, which is expressed in the creation of a universal device that makes it possible to produce, both in laboratory and in field conditions, a full cycle of preparing the ends of optical fibers for subsequent connection. The use of a universal device eliminates the need to develop and use a set of devices that perform only one of the operations for preparing the ends of optical fibers, which improves the working condition when installing fiber-optic communication lines.
The use of a cutting element with a point tip improves the surface quality of the ends of optical fibers as compared to the ends obtained using the prototype device, since there is no microcrack area at the point of contact of the cutting element with the surface of the optical fiber, which improves the signal transmission conditions over the fiber. optical communication lines.
