The invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in honing holes. One of the progressive methods of finishing is rotary honing, the productivity of which is several times higher than usual. The known honing head for machining holes, which by working elements is made in the form of a body of rotation and is installed in the pushers 1. The disadvantage of this tool is the complexity of the design of the drive of rotation of the cutting elements, made in the form of a planetary mechanism. The purpose of the invention is to improve the quality of the treated surface. This goal is achieved by the fact that in the honing head the working elements are mounted in the pushers with the possibility of free rotation, made conical with alternately varying orientation of the taper. The drawing shows the proposed honing head. The honing head consists of a body 1, a unclamping needle 2 connected with a machine unclamping mechanism (not shown), and working elements 3 made in the form of conical rotating bodies and installed in the push rod 4 with the possibility of rotation and contact of the generatrix of the cone with the machining surface. The pushers are in contact with the conical part of the unclamping needle and are equipped with a return spring 5. In the initial state, the needle 2 is in the upper position, the cutting elements 3 are compressed. A honing head is inserted into the hole to be machined, and a rotational and reciprocating movement of the honing head relative to the part is activated. At the same time, the cutting elements are quickly expanded to a contact with the surface to be treated and the transition to the working feed. These operations are carried out by means of appropriate drives, expansion mechanisms and system | oh machine control. From the moment of contact, the working elements made in the form of truncated cones begin to rotate due to the adhesion forces of the cutting grains with the metal and run around the treated cylindrical surface with slippage. The slip rate in this case is the circumferential cutting speed. The installation of tapered cutting elements with alternately varying orientation of the taper compensates for uneven wear of the cutting elements along the length of the forming cone. The use of the proposed design will reduce the cost of its manufacture and operation.
