The invention relates to a measurement technique and can be used to measure the radial (radial) velocities of stars according to the magnitude of the Doppler shift of the spectral lines by the photoelectric method using a copy of the stellar spectrum. The known radial velocity spectrometer, which contains a masked copy of the stellar spectrum, a moving mechanism with a reading device, focusing optics, a light-receiving device and amplifying recording equipment. The disadvantages of the known device are the inability to accumulate and averaging the signal to eliminate atmospheric noise, instability to temperature variations. ; the mechanical inaccuracy of the mask displacement unit, in which errors arise associated with the bending at different telescope positions, backlashes, and the manufacturing quality of the screw and sliding surfaces. A device for measuring the radial velocities of stars is known, comprising a telescope, a spectrograph with a spectrum extender with a cassette attachment mounted on it, consisting of a mask-copy of the stellar spectrum in the form of a transparent plate with a metallic coating, in which slits are parallel to each other, corresponding to absorption lines in the spectrum of the star under study, a focusing system and a series-connected photomultiplier, an amplifier and an accumulation unit of photon pulses connected to a computer. In addition to the mask focusing optics and photomultiplier mounted on the cassette part of the spectrograph, a plane-parallel plate is mounted behind the entrance slit inside the spectrograph, which is oscillated by a swing generator. Plate oscillations around the axis of the parallel slit of the spectrograph cause longitudinal oscillations of the spectrum relative to the mask in the direction of dispersion of the spectrograph. The magnitude of the spectrum shift is determined by the plate position sensor and is inputted to the electronic signal accumulation unit 2 for processing. As a result of the accumulation and averaging of several scans, the accuracy of measurements (0.8-0.5 km / s) due to a decrease in atmospheric noise increases, however, errors due to the mechanical performance of the plane-plate plate swing unit, inaccuracy of the plate position sensor remain. The plate swing assembly remains sensitive to thermal and mechanical deformations, which is a drawback of the device. The aim of the invention is to improve the accuracy of speed measurement while simplifying the design of the device. The goal is achieved by the fact that in a known device for measuring the radial velocities of stars, including a telescope, a spectrograph with a spectrum extender with a cassette attachment mounted on it, consisting of a mask of the stellar spectrum in the form of a transparent plate with a metallic coating, in which parallel slots are made. of absorption in the spectrum of the star under study, the focusing system and the series-connected photomultiplier, an amplifier and a photon-accumulation unit connected to a computer, parallel shchas; whether masks of the stellar spectrum are located at an angle a to the normal relative to the direction of dispersion of the spectrograph, the magnitude of the angle (f is determined by the expression, where V is the range of measured velocities; i is the average wavelength of the observed spectrum; H is the height of spectrum in the focal plane of the spectrograph expander; O — dispersion of the spectrograph; C is the speed of light; between the slits parallel to the direction of dispersion of the spectrograph in a mask of the stellar spectrum, additional reference slits are made; defined by the deI expression, the spectral width resulting from the operation of the spectrum extender; N is the specified number of speed intervals into which the entire measured speed range is divided, and the output of the spectrograph spectral extender is connected to the input of the photon pulse accumulation unit. Fig. 1 shows a diagram of a device for measuring the radial velocities of stars in Fig. 2, a mask copy; Figures 3 and 4 are graphs illustrating the nature of the output signal of the device. The device contains a serial astronomical spectrograph 1 with an entrance slit 2 and a spectrum expander and a prefix mounted on the cassette portion of the spectrograph containing the focusing system 4 and the photomultiplier ( FZD) 5 connected to the amplifier 6, the output of which is connected to the photon pulse accumulation unit 7 with the computer 8 and the recorder 9. The mask (Fig. 2) is made by making slots in the metal coating applied a transparent parallel plate. In the known device, the measurement of the radial velocity in a given interval requires displacement of the mask relative to the spectrum by an amount determined by the Doppler formula, which corresponds, for a given dispersion D of the spectrograph, to the distance on the photographic plate (mask) 2 The longitudinal movement of the spectrum in the proposed device is replaced with the transverse one. At the same time, to ensure that the mask is shifted relative to the spectrum by 2–2, the slit should be positioned obliquely. The lateral movement is determined by the aperture spectator of the stellar spectrum, and the slope of the if slots in the mask is from the ratio of cat and 2Vz. ITcTD The distance between the reference lines is given by a given number, into which the entire measured speed range is divided. Installing a mask with inclined slits eliminates the need to embed an additional node with a plane-parallel plate, a generator and a plate position sensor into the spectrograph (which is not always possible in a number of spectrographs). This eliminates errors associated with the mechanical and thermal deformations of these assemblies. The design of the attachment mounted on the cassette part of the spectrograph is greatly simplified and carried out from a single tube carrying the mask 3, the optics 4 and the photomultiplier 5. The device operates as follows. The light from the star is focused by a telescope on the entrance slit 2 of the spectrograph, decomposed by spectrograph 1 into the filament spectrum and projected onto mask 3. Radiation passing through the mask is collected by the optical system 4 and directed to the photo-cathode of the PMT 5. The current generated in the latter is amplified by an amplifier 6 and fed to pulse accumulation unit 7, after which it is fed to computer 8 and recorder 9. When the spectrum expander is turned on, the star’s filament spectrum, shifting from one edge of the mask to the other, successively crosses the first line , and the radiation of the continuous spectrum of the star at this moment shows an increase in the current into the photoelectric receiver of the photomultiplier, and pulses appear in the recording part, indicating the position of the spectrum relative to the mask. The passage of the absorption details of the spectrum along oblique peaks of the mask causes a change in the current of the light-receiver, which will register the minimum signal when the absorption lines coincide with the mask lines. With a zero Doppler shift, the signal looks like that shown in Fig. 3, and in the presence of a Doppler shift, the minimum of the signal will shift relative to the previous position, and the radial velocity of the star is determined relative to the reference marks (Fig. A). The advantages of the invention are the absence of additional mechanical units for displacing the mask, introducing unavoidable measurement errors, compactness and complete rigidity of the light-receiving part, the absence of additional sensors and electronic units that provide and process information.
