Description
5°.Methods are known for manual electric arc welding of one-sided butt welds on a copper lining, used in the repair of fire chambers, the rear bottom and other parts of the SulT, steam boilers, where only one side is available for welding, and as a result one-sided manual welding is unavoidable. The welding of one-sided joints on a copper lining using the methods used does not ensure the quality of welds, since during welding a layer of slag is deposited, which weakens the cross-section of the seam and prevents the penetration of full penetration in the root of the seam; copper lining burns and copper ingress into the seam are observed; The welding process is allowed at a temperature not lower than minus 5 °.
40°.The proposed method of manual electric arc welding with the use of a copper lining eliminates the aforementioned drawbacks and makes it possible to dry, reduce welding at negative temperatures to minus 40 °.
This is achieved in that when cutting a seam with a copper lining or lightweight tacks, a bundle of several doped electrode wires is reinforced and the arc is ignited between the electrode and the bundle of wires.
The drawing shows the location of the beam of electrode wires. The number and diameter of the wires is determined depending on the required heat input energy of the arc. It can be from one to five wires with a diameter of 2 - 3 mm. The best results are given by a bundle of 3.4 or 5 wires with a diameter of 2 mm doped with manganese and aluminum at a ratio of

The bundle is bound with thin steel wire and reinforced in the groove of the copper lining. The arc is lit between the electrode and the bundle of wires. This eliminates the sharp effect of the arc heat source on the cold metal at the time of ignition during frost welding, which can cause cracking in the base metal. In the process of pairing, the melting of the wire bundle is slightly ahead of the melting of the base metal, therefore, it can be seen how the bundle of wires melts. This makes it possible to control the melting of the wire and simultaneously adjust the welding speed. When welding on modes with a high heat input of the arc, the beam prevents the burn-through of the copper lining and the ingress of copper into the seam. Full penetration of the weld root and good formation of the return roller are achieved by laying the first weld layer with the greatest possible heat input of the arc, the possibility of which can be increased by matching the composition of the wire bundle. Welding one-sided joints. X seams on a bundle of filler wire provides high-quality execution of welds.
