The invention relates to mechanical tests, in particular, to determining the strength properties of cable elements when subjected to tensile forces. There is a known method of testing cable for tensile strength by placing cable ends in grippers made in the form of wedge cams, applying tensile force to grippers to break the cable and measuring the destructive force of 1. The disadvantage of the known method is its small informativity, since it is impossible to determine in this way the loads that are separately applied to the sheath and to the inner element of the cable during its loading. ® The aim of the invention is to improve the information content determining effort de stvuyuschih both the sheath and the cable BHjnrre1pshy element. This goal is achieved in that according to the cable tensile strength test method by placing the cable ends in the grippers, applying tensile stress to the grips until the cable breaks and measuring the amount of destructive force, the coupling half is used as the grippers, force is applied through adapters, rigidly connected to the open ends of the coupling halves, and in the opening of each coupling half a force meter is installed ,; which is connected simultaneously with the inner element of the cable and with the corresponding adapter. The drawing shows the scheme of the process. The method of testing the cable for tensile strength by placing the cable ends in the grippers is as follows. At the ends of the cable under test 1, coupling halves 2 are placed, which are connected to the sheath 3 of cable 1. In turn, coupling halves 2 are rigidly connected with adapters 4 with free ends. In the opening of each coupling half 2, a force meter 5 is installed, which is connected simultaneously with the internal element 6 cable 1 and with a corresponding adapter 4. One of the adapters 4 is connected to a fixed base 7, and the other non-adapter 4 is connected to a force meter 8 mounted on a movable cross bar 9. Mounted in the coupling halves, 2 cable 1 loads the length of the g and a force F, the magnitude of which is fixed by a load cell 8. Through the adapter 4 of the coupling half 2, the force F is transmitted to the sheath 3 of the cable 1. The sheath 3 deformed by the force F can cause the inner element 6 of the cable 1 to move relative to the sheath due to insufficient adhesion between them, a. the force from this movement will be recorded by a force meter 5. With an increase in force F, recorded by force meter 8, is simultaneously due-. The force of displacement of the inner element 6 of the cable 1, fixed by the load cell 5, varies. Thus, the pattern of redistribution of forces on the external and internal elements of the cable can be traced, depending on the technology of its manufacture and on the properties of the material from which the cable is made, which increases em to evaluate the strength properties of both the cable as a whole and its individual elements
