Doteraz známe upevnenie predstavca kormidla do vidlice bicykla vychádza z podstaty US patentu č. 4 130 260, ktorá spočíva v tom, že do dutého stĺpika prednej vidlice je zasunutý dutý stĺpik predstavca alebo kormidla, ktorý má na spodnej časti dve pozdĺžne drážky a vnútorné kuželové zrezanie. Do neho sa skrutkou vťahuje rozpinací kužeí, ktorý pritláča spodnú časť stĺpika predstavca alebo kormidlo na vnútornú valcovú plochu stĺpika prednej vidlice. Vzniknutým trením je zaistené spojenie obidvoch častí.
