Technical field

The invention relates to a device for preventing unauthorized manipulation of a hydrant, comprising a spout cover, or a control body connected to a main hydrant closure, which are provided with a recess in the openings into which a key can be fitted, and a lid surrounding the hydrant control body.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Handling of tip inserts, resp. with the main hydrant closures to which they form a unit, and only the authorized persons should be allowed to release the hydrant outlet cover. Known inserts however, the outlets of the outlets can be released not only with keys provided for this purpose, but also with pliers and similar tools, so that the function of the hydrants is quite often misused. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is an object of the present invention to improve the apparatus of this kind in such a way that unauthorized manipulation is almost impossible. This is accomplished by providing a freely rotatable other body in the actuating body which is provided with a recess in the recess which cooperates with the opening disposed in the actuating body.

In the arrangement according to the invention, it is possible to unscrew the cover of the spout or the spout. to open the main hydrant lock only with a special key, which is not available for unauthorized persons.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the lid is provided with at least one inner protrusion which cooperates with the corresponding protrusion on the hydrant itself and prevents the lid from rotating. According to FIG. 1 and 2, a control body 1 is provided having an aperture IA through which the control body can be connected to the main hydrant shutter. The control body 1 is mounted freely rotatable in the lid 2, the axial locking being realized by a locking ring 3, which rests on the inner projection of the lid.

In the control body 1 there is a freely rotatably mounted second body 5, which for this purpose is provided with a circumferential groove 6 in which at least one pin 7 screwed into the control body 1. The control body 1 is provided with a cylindrical bore 8 which is received in a recess, the second body 5 then through an opening 9, which is located eccentrically opposite the opening 8. Practically, the key body 5 constitutes a sleeve whose inner opening forms an opening 9.

The lid 2 is provided on its inner side with protrusions 10 which fit into the respective protrusions 11 on the hydrant itself. It is therefore not possible to rotate the lid 2 at all. only slightly.
