Cez hlavu klinca, dosadajúcu na dorazovú plochu v dutom hriadeli, sa pridržiavací prvok upevní na murivo. Pre dvojdielne vyhotovenie známych pridržiavacích prvkov sú na ich ukotvenie potrebné dva pracovné kroky. Najprv sa pridržiavací tanier s natvarovaným hriadelom vtlačí do dosky z izolačnej hmoty a nadväzne sa cez hriadel zarazí klinec do podkladu. Ďalej sa musí značne zosilniť koniec dutého hriadeľa, aby zniesol sily pnutia, vychádzajúce z hlavy klinca.
