Abstract
Device for separating one liquid from a mixture of two or more liquids having a different density, the device comprising a collecting chamber and a separating chamber, and wherein the structure of the device makes it possible to completely remove the separation chamber from the collecting chamber and thus the spent separation chamber as a whole we are replacing it with a new one. With this device, the liquid mixture enters the collecting chamber through the inlet opening and continues the flow through the connection opening into the separation chamber, where the adsorbent adsorbs one of the fluids. A fluid or a mixture of non-adsorbent liquids continues to flow through the discharge tube to the discharge opening.
Description
NAPRAVA ZA LOČEVANJE TEKOČIN Z ODSTRANUIVO LOČEVALNO KOMOROLIQUID SEPARATION DEVICE WITH A REMOVABLE SEPARATION CHAMBER
The subject of the invention is a liquid separation device with a removable separation chamber. This involves the separation of one fluid from a mixture of two or more fluids, the fluids having different densities. An example is the separation of oil from water or condensate produced by a compressed air system or other gas pipeline system. In these systems, moisture in the form of condensate is extracted from the gas, and especially from the air in the compressed air systems.
The term "mixture of two liquids" is hereinafter referred to as a mixture of two or more liquids, wherein the liquids have different densities.
The term "separator" hereinafter means a device for separating a mixture of two liquids.
The term "separation chamber" means a chamber or reservoir where the separation of liquids takes place.
The two most common devices for separating a mixture of two liquids, or in this case a mixture of water and oil, are shown in Figures 1 and 2. In Fig. 1, the device consists of a collecting chamber 12 and two separating chambers 10 which are filled with an adsorbent 11 which adsorbs the oil while the water drains freely. The adsorbent has a limited oil adsorption capacity and needs to be replaced over time. In this solution, the collecting chamber and the separation chamber are inextricably linked. The problem with this solution is the demanding removal of spent adsorbent 11 from the separation chamber 10 during the change, and the interior of the separation chamber 10 must also be cleaned.
Figure 2 shows a gravity separation device whereby the rarer fluid A rises to the surface while the denser fluid B is discharged from the bottom of the vessel. The problem with this mode is mainly the low separation efficiency.
There are also devices where it is a combination of the device in Figure 1 and the device in Figure 2. The problems with such a device are the demanding removal of spent adsorbent from the separation chamber and the need to clean the interior of the separation chambers of the device when replacing the spent adsorbent.
Pomanjkljivost rešitve je zahtevno odstranjevanje iztrošenega adsorbenta iz ločevalne komore in potreba po čiščenju notranjosti ločevalnih komor naprave ob menjavi iztrošenega adsorbenta.- 2A US6780334B1 discloses a device where separation is performed by the adsorption principle. The device consists of two separation chambers, which are filled with adsorbent. The fluid flows from the first chamber to the second, whereby the adsorbent adsorbs a certain liquid from the fluid mixture. The disadvantage of the solution is the demanding removal of spent adsorbent from the separation chamber and the need to clean the inside of the separation chambers of the device when replacing the spent adsorbent.
Problema pri takšni napravi sta zahtevno odstranjevanje iztrošenega adsorbenta iz ločevalne komore in potreba po čiščenju notranjosti ločevalnih komor naprave ob menjavi iztrošenega adsorbenta.EP1702660B1 discloses a device for combining gravity separation and separation with an adsorbent. The problems with such a device are the demanding removal of spent adsorbent from the separation chamber and the need to clean the interior of the separation chambers of the device when replacing the spent adsorbent.
The common disadvantages of the known solutions are, in particular, the demanding removal of the spent adsorbent from the separation chamber and the need to clean the separation chamber of the device during the replacement of the spent adsorbent, and in the case of gravity separation, the greatest disadvantage is the low separation efficiency.
NALOGA IZUMAORDER OF THE INVENTION
Naloga izuma je konstrukcija takšne naprave, ki bo ob učinkovitem ločevanju dveh tekočin omogočala enostavno menjavo iztrošenega adsorbenta in kjer ob menjavi iztrošenega adsorbenta ne bo potrebno čiščenje notranjosti ločevalne komore naprave. It is an object of the invention to design such a device that, with the effective separation of the two liquids, it will be easy to replace the spent adsorbent and where, when replacing the spent adsorbent, there will be no need to clean the interior of the separation chamber of the device.
According to the invention, the problem is solved by a two-fluid separation device, which is designed so that the separation chamber filled with the adsorbent can be completely removed and replaced with a new one.

Za prvo komoro se bo v nadaljevanju uporabljal izraz »zbiralna komora«, za drugo komoro pa se bo uporabljal izraz »ločevalna komora«- 3A device for separating two liquids according to the invention is a device consisting of two chambers, the first chamber being intended for collecting a mixture of liquids and venting through a vent 5 when a mixture of two liquids is brought under pressure to the separating device. The first chamber has an inlet and outlet connection and a connection for the second chamber. The second chamber is designed to separate two liquids. The term "collecting chamber" will be used for the first chamber and the term "separation chamber" for the second chamber.
Tok mešanice dveh tekočin je označen s puščicami na sliki 3.The flow of the mixture of two liquids is indicated by the arrows in Figure 3.
Primer mešanice dveh tekočin je mešanica olja in vode.An example of a mixture of two liquids is a mixture of oil and water.
The mixture separator according to the invention enters a mixture of two liquids through the inlet opening 1 on the collecting chamber 2. The collecting chamber 2 forms a truncated cone that narrows from top to bottom. Other design options, such as cylindrical, cubic or quadric, are also possible.
V ločevalniku po izumu je odvodna cevka 8 speljana od dna ločevalne komore 7 do zbiralne komore 2 in povezana z odvodno odprtino 5 na zbiralni komori 2.The mixture of two liquids flows from the collecting chamber 2 into the separation chamber 7 through the connecting hole 4 at the bottom of the collecting chamber 2. In the embodiment, the separation chamber 7 is cylindrical in shape, but other shapes are possible, such as the shape of a truncated cone, cube or square. The separation chamber 7 is filled with two different adsorbents that adsorb oil. The task of the first adsorbent 6 is to roughly separate and the task of the second adsorbent 9 is to finely separate the oil from the water. Liquid or mixture of non-adsorbed liquids, which is water as appropriate, is discharged via a drainage tube 8 from the separator. Embodiments without adsorbent or with a combination of more than two adsorbents are also possible. In the separator according to the invention, the drainage tube 8 is guided from the bottom of the separation chamber 7 to the collecting chamber 2 and connected to the drainage opening 5 on the collecting chamber 2.
The construction of the separator according to the invention therefore consists of a collecting chamber 2 connected to the separation chamber 7. The separation chamber 7 can, if necessary, be completely removed and replaced with a new one. Replacement of the separation chamber 7 is usually effected when the adsorbent in the separation chamber is depleted.
The connection of the separation chamber 7 to the collecting chamber 2 is threaded and other implementations of the connection are possible.
Ločevalno komoro 7 je po odstranitvi od zbiralne komore 2 možno zatesniti s čepom 13, kot je prikazano na sliki 4 s čimer se prepreči izliv tekočine iz iztrošene ločevalne komore vendar so možne tudi izvedbe, ki ne omogočajo tesnjenja ločevalne komore 7 po odstranitvi od zbiralne komore 2.After removal from the collecting chamber 2, the separation chamber 7 can be sealed with a plug 13, as shown in figure 4, which prevents the liquid from leaking from the spent separation chamber, but also embodiments which do not allow sealing of the separation chamber 7 after removal from the collection chamber 2.
