Abstract

The procedure of low-cost manufacturing of moulds for unique specimen from cast or blown glass uses a positive made from a material with a considerably lower melting point compared to the mollification point of glass. The specified positive is coated by a protective coating. Then it is necessary to wait until it gets harder, when such a coated positive is placed into a steel frame and the unused space is filled up with quartz sand, Furano pitch and paratoloulsulphonic acid. After the specified mixture turns solid, everything is placed in a furnace and heated to the appropriate temperature, high enough that the positive melts and runs off. This way the mould is completed. After casting and hardening of glass the mould turns to dust.

Description

POSTOPEK CENENE IZDELAVE KALUPOV ZA UNIKATNE ULITE ALI PIHANE STEKLENE IZDELKEPROCEDURE FOR THE PRICED MAKING OF MOLDINGS FOR UNIQUE INVOLVED OR BREATHED GLASS PRODUCTS

Področje tehnikeThe field of technology

Po MPK spada izum v razred C03B 19/02.According to the MPK, the invention belongs to class C03B 19/02.

-2-2Tehniški problem-2-2Technical Problem

The invention solves the technical problem of making such a molding process for unique molded or blown glass products, which, on the one hand, is supposed to be the cheapest and, on the other, the most faithful to reproduce the positive.

Stanje tehnikeThe state of the art

The inventor only knows steel multi-part molds for making a large number of glass castings. These molds are too expensive to uniquely produce art objects made of glass.

Opis nove rešitveDescription of the new solution

V nadaljevanju bo postopek podrobneje opisan. It is an object of the invention that the mold is made on the positive of a substance with a melting point substantially below the softening of the glass, and only the mold material is of such a mixture as to allow sufficient strength to solidify the cast object, after which it automatically or with slight impact breaks into dust. The procedure will be described in more detail below.

A positive coating of a mixture of substances that are resistant to high temperature is applied to the positive. This is the first layer of mold. Wait for the coating to harden and then insert the coated positive into the steel casing and hit the positive with a mixture of silica sand, furan resin and paratoluenesulfonic acid. The future mold should have a vent. Wait for the mixture to hit the coated positive to harden, then put it all together in the oven and heat until the positive has melted and flows out of the mold. This is how the mold is made.

The procedure of the embodiment is as follows: For the positive, use wax and apply a protective coating of a mixture of 100 g containing at least 30 g of furan resin, at least 10 g of paratoluenesulfonic acid, at least 10 g of graphite powder, and the remainder up to 100 g is silica sand . When the coating has hardened, the coated positive is then applied to the steel casing and hit with a mixture composed by adding at least 2 g of furan resin and at least 0.7 g of paratoluenesulfonic acid to 100 g of quartz sand. Allow the mixture to solidify and then heat it all in the oven to a temperature high enough for the wax to flow out of the mold. The advantage of the mold according to the invention is, in addition to its cheapness, that it can produce castings of any shape, even those with negative angles, because soon after the cast glass hardens, it disintegrates into dust and only the glass cast is left behind. In this way it is possible to produce glass products of virtually any shape according to the designers' suggestions.
