Abstract

The invention deals with a procedure and device for noise dampening during breaking, while the procedure according to the invention includes the application of the selected media, usually a liquid or a suspension of air and liquid, with the application device for applying in a predefined quantity to predetermined areas on the rail-break or at least one breaking element of the rail-break. The type as well as the quantity of the media is selected following the requirement that its application may not considerably deteriorate the breaking effects between the braking element (7) and the wheel, which is during breaking gripping to it or provides the necessary friction.
