Abstract

The aim of the inventor was to provide a low cost threaded screwcap, particularly for closing bottles for storing refreshing drinks containing carbon dioxide or so called carbonated drinks, which would due to an utmost simple unwinding of the screwcap from the PET bottle and despite the specified winding moment to the PET bottle, provide appropriate sealing between the screwcap and the plastic bottle in all anticipated regular conditions, which the screwcap with the plastic bottle is subjected to during the time between filling and opening. The application describes a threaded screwcap, particularly for PET bottles, which is made like a single side open pipe-like structure. The screwcap features a front side (2) and an internal circular wall (1) with an internal thread (5) on its inner surface (11). The problem is especially acute because it cannot be solved by simply increasing the sealing force. with a stronger screw cap. The latter causes consumers to find it difficult to unscrew the stopper and, as a rule, even discard such products.
