Abstract

During armouring of a component susceptible to wear and tear, consisting of a metallic base material, with a wear-protection layer (2) comprising at least one layer (3) provided with ceramic particles (6) accommodated in a metallic matrix (7), a high bearing capacity is achieved and damage to the base material is prevented. Said matrix (7) is made of a material whose melting point is lower than the melting point of the base material (1). (Fig. 2)
