In particular, the present invention relates to DNA polymerases based on a DNA polymerase from a Psychrobacillus sp. The present invention provides an isolated DNA polymerase or an enzymat- ically active fragment thereof, said DNA polymerase comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 or comprising an amino acid sequence which is at least 70% identical to SEQ ID NO:l.
