Abstract
A method for controlling a driven trailer, as well as a motor-driven trailer A method for controlling a trailer driven by an electric motor, comprising the steps: • Defining a distance between the trailer and a towing vehicle as a neutral position, • Measuring a deviation of the distance between the trailer and towing vehicle from the neutral position and outputting this deviation as a distance value, • Electrically-actuated braking of the trailer when the distance between the trailer and the towing vehicle is decreased relative to the neutral position by at least one first distance value, • Mechanically-actuated braking of the trailer when the distance between the trailer and towing vehicle is decreased relative to the neutral position by at least one second distance value, wherein the second distance value is greater than the first distance value, • Accelerating the trailer by the electric motor when the distance between the trailer and towing vehicle is increased relative to the neutral position by a third distance value.
