Abstract
CONTROL SYSTEMS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS A control system 302 for a passenger service vehicle 300 is described. The control 5 system 302 comprises or is configured to access or communicate with a database 310 comprising a plurality of feature locations 314 along a route 312 of the vehicle 300. The control system 302 also comprises or is configured to access or communicate with a vehicle information system providing at least one operating parameter of the vehicle 300, such as velocity and/or location of the passenger service vehicle 300. The control 10 system 302 is configured to determine, based at least partly on the at least one operating parameter of the vehicle 300, a coasting condition associated with the vehicle 300 under which the vehicle 300 can coast without being under motive power to arrive at the feature location 314 at a velocity that is a target velocity or higher, or within a target velocity range; and to provide an indication 324 that the vehicle 300 should 15 begin to coast based on the coasting condition.
