Abstract
The dust is mixed with an oxide prior to heat treatment. - A method for recovering zinc from dust generated in the steel industry comprises a leaching process in which zinc oxide is removed from the ferrite structure in the dust prior to leaching by heating in order to carry out a solid phase exchange between the zinc in the ferrite structure and another element. The dust is mixed with an oxide prior to heat treatment.
