Abstract

PURPOSE: To economically recover bromine from a free bromine-contg. soln. by bringing the soln. into contact with a strongly basic anion exchange resin to allow the bromine to be adsorbed and heating the resin.
CONSTITUTION: A soln. contg. ≥0.2, preferably 1W15g/l free bromine is brought into contact with a strongly basic anion exchange resin at ≤60, preferably 10W 40°C to allow the bromine to be adsorbed on the resin. This resin is then brought into contact with steam at 60W130, preferably 90W110°C to allow the bromine to be desorbed.
