Abstract

A system function is used that allows a two-step passage through the lock with verification. The first step involves a person entering the lock (1) via the first pair of gates (2) using e.g. a card-reading device, and then the gates are closed behind the person and a verification step is carried out on the person inside the lock using e.g. a biometric system. During the verification step, detection is carried out simultaneously using lateral signals (A) from a linear sensor and vertical signals from a volume sensor, to ensure that only one person is present inside the lock. If the verification step is successful then the second pair of gates (3) is opened, otherwise they remain closed and the first pair is opened and an alarm is sounded.
