Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for killing insects (1) and the eggs and other development stages of such pests and other invertebrates which are present in finely distributed foodstuffs (2). The finely distributed foodstuff (2) is mixed in accordance with the invention, and in conjunction with this mixing carbon dioxide snow (3) is added to the aforementioned mixture of the foodstuff (2) and any insects (1), etc., which it may contain, for the purpose of bringing about rapid and effective cooling and killing of the insects (1), etc.
