Abstract

A method for reducing in a recovery boiler the risk for coatings and clogging of heat absorbing surfaces present above the black liquor sprayers, whereby the oxygen concentration in the recovery boiler is increased on at least one level above said black liquor sprayers, for the purpose of increasing the combustion speed for pyrolytic gases and thereby reducing the gas temperature prior to its entrance into the superheater area.
