Abstract

The casting weight (1) is secured to one arm (4) of a holder made from piano wire, the other arm (3) being attached to a metal wing (2). The arm attached to the wing has a part bent inwards towards the other arm, which secures the two arms together and forms an eyelet (5) for the bait hook. A gentle snatch of the fishing line applies pressure to the wing, forcing it out from the holder arm and opening the eyelet.
