Abstract

A dispenser unit (1) for a non-gaseous flowable material (4) comprises a holder (2) for the flowable material having disposed therein an aperture (3) through which the material can be transferred between internal and external of the holder (2) and a flow meter (6) for measuring flow of the material during transfer. The flow meter (6) comprises a sensor (7,19,20), for example a differential pressure meter (7), adapted to determine a pressure difference between two vertically displaced locations within the holder (2), one above and one below the surface of the material(4), at a plurality of times during the transfer. The meter (6) is adapted to output a signal indicative of the flow from a calculation of the rate of change of the determined pressure difference. <IMAGE>
