An ultrasound reflector (29) is secured to the treatment catheter (12) at a given distance from the heat source (10, 11) in order to localise heat in the gland (19). A catheter is inserted into the urinary tract and connected to a heat source in order to warm up the tissue adjacent to this source, the power for the heat being supplied from an external unit.
